The Pixel Mint furnishes a variety of services that are meant to assist photographers and artists by providing expert, custom craftsmanship. Our intention is to help bridge the gap between traditional creation methods and modern digital platforms. To this end we offer:
Drum Scanning. Film is fluid mounted and scanned using our Heidelberg Tango drum scanner, generally considered the best drum scanner ever made. Digital files are cleaned and color corrected to match the original.
Flatbed Scanning. Original flat art is scanned on the Epson Expression 10000xl. It features an 11"x17" scanning area. Larger pieces are scanned in sections and stitched together in Photoshop. The final files are cleaned and color matched to the originals.
Retouching. Expert Photoshop retouching is available at very competitive rates. Some services include: color and contrast correction, restoration, masking, compositing, and alteration.
Printing. Our specialty is small and large format ink jet printing. We can print up to 44" wide on the Epson Stylus Pro 9880 while smaller prints are handled on the Epson Stylus Pro 3800. Both of these printers use Epson's state of the art Ultrachrome K3 ink set with vivid magenta.
Mounting and Lamination. Let us take care of all of your finishing needs. We can supply a wide variety of display options that will help your image look good and last longer.
