mounting and lamination

Mounting and Lamination are important considerations when getting prints made and we can furnish a wide variety of both.

In general, mounting is a presentation method and lamination is a preservation method which can add to your prints life and appearance.

Lamination protects your print from the elements. All printed material is degraded by the effects of light, pollutants, and people touching it with their very ph biased skin. All of our overlaminates have UV protection to fight the damage caused by light. Other damaging environmental conditions are kept in check by the very nature of not being able to pass through the lamination to the surface of the print. An overlaminate is like having the image behind glass...all of the time.

Mounting keeps things flat and uncreased, which makes for a much better viewing environment. Our mounting service goes far beyond just gluing paper to board however. There are many very beautiful and decorative methods such as float mounting and flush mounting, which make framing your print unnecessary.

Mounted and laminated prints are much more practical ways to present your prints when the size of the print gets larger. Framing becomes difficult, expensive and nearly impossible as print sizes grow beyond 20"x24".

We would be happy to help you figure out which methods suit your particular need best. So, think about mounting and laminating along with printing. It makes sense.
